Product information

Easy to use
Cut foam about 1-2 mm larger than the cross section of your filter and put it into the filter as the last filter stage. Avoid gaps between the inner wall and filter. Fine-pored foam as pre- and long-term filter material.

Fine filtering
The fine material filters even the smallest particles (1/1000 mm upwards) out of the water. This removes floating algae and very fine turbidity from the water almost immediately.

Absolutely safe
No release of pollutants into the water thanks to neutral foam. Open-pored through dedicated high-pressure treatment.

Quality of foam:
Foams used in aquaristics with live animals must always be subjected to a pollutant test, as most plastics release problematic plasticisers into the water. All the plastics used by JBL have passed this test and do NOT release any harmful substances into the water.

Cleaning of plastics:
For many months it is sufficient to rinse the dirty filter sponges under lukewarm running water and then inoculate them with filter bacteria (JBL FilterStart) before using them again. However, as mechanical cleaning NEVER leads to complete cleaning and dirt will remain in the filter sponge, we recommend you replace the filter sponges about every 6 months. If you place a freshly cleaned filter sponge in a glass of clean water overnight, you will be able to smell how much dirt is still present in the supposedly clean sponge the next morning!

FAQ
What helps with green water in the aquarium?

Green water means floating algae, which grow when they have no competition from other plants and, even more, when the excrement of the fish creates excessive nutrient pollution in the water. The filter will not be able to do much about this. Ultimately, there are only two options:

1. Carry out significantly more water changes in order to remove the nutrients caused by fish excrement.

2. A JBL PROCRISTAL UV-C Compact plus kills off the floating algae.

A temporary measure is to switch off the light for 2-3 days in order to stop photosynthesis in the algae.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
