8-Week Special Exhibition to the Source of the Orinoco
For adverturers with some time to spare there are 5 free places available for a very special expedition: in October/November 2017 we’ll be flying long-haul to Caracas, then taking a domestic flight to Puerto Ayacucho, going by boat to La Esmeralda and finally walking to the source of the Orinoco at the Brazilian border.
The expedition will be carried out under the leadership of Bernd Theissel. Up to now there have been only two documented expeditions to the source of Orinoco, which was only discovered in 1951. Along with a yellow fever vaccination you will need some physical fitness, good health and a willingness to live the simple life with simple food for a long period of time. All participants will take part at their own risk, since such an expedition to a remote area without any medical provision is not, of course, without danger.
Ideally we’d like some participants with extensive knowledge of filming and photography so that we can offer the material we collect to television companies. The complete expedition costs per participant without long-haul flights will come to about €6000 - €10000.
JBL will support the expedition with test equipment and fishing gear. Interested parties please contact the organiser Bernd Theissel directly under firstname.lastname@example.org
