Product information

Ideal nutrition for plants
Having the right CO2 concentration in the water is hugely important for aquarium plants. Carbon dioxide serves as the main nutrient for plants and thus as a growth promoter for their full development. Plants use CO2 for photosynthesis and this supplies the water with essential oxygen. They prevent algae growth, remove pollutants, provide hiding places and reduce germs.

Efficient enrichment of the aquarium water with CO2: The diffuser contains a special diaphragm through which the CO2 diffuses into the aquarium water. The very small CO2 bubbles dissolve very well in the aquarium water.

JBL offers the TAIFUN GLASS diffuser in 3 sizes:
JBL PROFLORA CO2 TAIFUN MINI: for aquariums from 40-120 l, 67 mm high, 37 mm wide without the suction cups, 25 mm diameter of the diffuser
JBL PROFLORA CO2 TAIFUN MIDI: for aquariums from 60-300 l, 76 mm high, 42 mm wide without the suction cups, 30 mm diameter of the diffuser
JBL PROFLORA CO2 TAIFUN MAXI: for aquariums from 160-800 l, 90 mm high, 58 mm wide without the suction cups, 40 mm diameter of the diffuser

FAQ
May the JBL PROFLORA CO2 products only be used for the aquarium?

Yes, the JBL PROFLORA CO2 products are designed exclusively for use in the aquarium. The gas contained promotes plant growth and works with fine precision so that even the smallest quantities can be supplied to the aquarium. Constant operation and the safety of the fish are thus guaranteed.

What is the minimum working pressure I need to use the JBL CO2 accessories?

All check valves or backflow protectíons from JBL require a working pressure of at least 0.6 bar for the valve to open. This feature can be found in the JBL PROFLORA CO2 TAIFUN SAFESTOP, COUNTSAFE and INLINE. The JBL PROFLORA TAIFUN diffusers also all already work with this pressure. A higher working pressure is not necessary, which is why all accessories also work with the JBL PROFLORA BIO SETs (except JBL PROFLORA CO2 STARTER BIO SET). Due to installation, a slightly higher working pressure than 0.6 bar may be necessary due to long hoses and other components, which is why the presetting of 1.2 bar is sufficient in any case.

The JBL Taifun P or GLASS has become clogged. What’s the cause and what can be done about it?

Over time, algae growth, mulm deposits or occasionally limescale deposits can lead to a clogging of the ceramic diffusion membrane for tiny micro bubbles, with the result that the bubbles get bigger.

In this case please add the JBL Taifun P to JBL PROCLEAN AQUA for several hours.

The JBL PROFLORA CO2 TAIFUN GLASS only produces micro bubbles in a few places on the ceramic disc. Why is that?

Gases and fluids always seek the path of least resistance when under pressure. Accordingly, it is normal for a ceramic diffusor not to produce bubbles that are evenly distributed all over the aquarium. The distribution naturally depends on other parameters as well. For example, if the pressure of the carbon dioxide is increased it will result in more uniform bubble production, but more carbon dioxide will be pressed through the TAIFUN as well.

Some of the pores of the ceramic disc can become clogged in the course of time. Please see the other FAQs for more information.

Why is CO2 such a good help when combating algae?

Algae are plants, but only very simple Algae are plants, but only very simple ones. CO2 fertilisation promotes the growth of the more complex plants and algae have no chance against them!

Well made glass co2 diffuser which produces fine bubbles helping for a better dissolve of the co2 in the water. A must have for a nano tank.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
