Online meets Offline Vol. 4 – OmO goes into the next round

OmO stands for “Online meets Offline” and brings together highly rated influencers and dedicated onliners offline. We’re offering the fifteen participants an exclusive 24-hour program with the JBL brand. This will be an exciting two days. Even those with lots of experience with products and insights virtually will gain some new, awesome insights - guaranteed.

My work at JBL involves working with a lot of influencers and doing plenty of networking within the industry, and this is enabling us to offer you a varied and unforgettable programme. But there’ll also be lots of opportunity for bonding and networking too. After all, we all share one common interest - our hobby! Everyone benefits when we develop ideas together or get a project going. And we’d really appreciate you passing on your impressions of this event live to your own followers.

Registration

Your comments and wishes will complete the meeting planning and activate the registration phase. You’ll find more information below. Registration opens in mid-October. Participants will receive confirmation or otherwise by 10 Nov. 2019. The event will take place from 22 Nov. 2019 14:00 until 23 Nov. 2019 18:00. This is an advantage for long distance travelers.

Programme

This is the motto our 2-day program will follow. It’ll be the first time it’s been shaped by requests from our community. In addition to getting to know the JBL plant with a comprehensive factory tour, we have already fixed one special programme item, where participants will be able to immortalize themselves at JBL - but we’re not going to reveal any more at this point.

For the last few years we’ve organised dinner for all at the Reptilium Landau with a guided tour behind the scenes and a visit to the coral breeding Wendel in Leinsweiler, which sells only German coral offspring. A visit to Oratio, the "L'alligatore", known to many from television, proved a lasting experience for many.

We would like to know what you think what we absolutely need to include. We can organise two visits within a 100 km radius of JBL. Are you interested in visiting an ornamental fish wholesaler? Would you like to meet crocodiles up close? Tell us your requests and ideas in the next two weeks here in the comments.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.

JBL GmbH & Co. KG provides this service free of charge, and it is easy to activate or deactivate.
