Product information

Why do you need a solenoid valve or a night shut-off?
Since plants only need CO2 for photosynthesis during the lighting phase, you can turn off the CO2 supply at night. To save you having to turn the CO2 bottle on and off, there are solenoid valves (JBL PROFLORA CO2 VALVE) which can be controlled by a timer. The timer then switches, say, the light and the CO2 supply on via the solenoid valve in the morning and off again in the evening.
Shrewd aquarium owners will immediately recognise that the solenoid valve quickly recoups its cost price by saving the CO2 by half. It is always installed between the pressure reducer and check valve or directly screwed to the pressure reducer. If you want to use a pH computer with an automatic CO2 control, you’ll also need a solenoid valve. This is then not switched via the time switch, but via the pH control unit (JBL PROFLORA CO2 CONTROL).

Safe and economical
Thanks to its low power input of 0.8 W the valve body is hardly warm to the touch and operates with a 12 V safety transformer. The silent solenoid saves up to 50% CO2, since the CO2 supply is switched off at night.

FAQ
May the JBL PROFLORA CO2 products only be used for the aquarium?

Yes, the JBL PROFLORA CO2 products are designed exclusively for use in the aquarium. The gas contained promotes plant growth and works with fine precision so that even the smallest quantities can be supplied to the aquarium. Constant operation and the safety of the fish are thus guaranteed.

Do I need a night switch-off when I use the JBL Proflora pH Control Touch or the JBL PROFLORA CO2 CONTROL?

You need a separate soleniod valve (JBL ProFlora v002 or JBL PROFLORA CO2 VALVE) to control the CO2 supply. A further night switch-off for CO2 systems, controlled by a pH control unit is not needed, as the CO2 supply will not be turned on in the absence of CO2 consumption, or it will happen less frequently when CO2 degassing occurs at the water surface. That is why the control units do not need a timer

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.

JBL GmbH & Co. KG provides this service free of charge, and it is easy to activate or deactivate.
