The participants of the JBL expedition 2015 PACIFIC – AUSTRALIA have been decided

On 15 September 2014 the registration deadline ended for the big Australia expedition 2015, which will take the JBL research team and the participants from the kelp forests of California, to Tahiti in the South Seas, to the various habitats of Australia (Great Barrier Reef, rainforest in the northeast, the Outback and the Kakadu National Park in the north).

About 50 applications for this very special trip arrived at JBL. The applications were classified in repeaters and new applicants, because new applicants had priority.

Nevertheless we decided to give four repeaters the chance to come with us again. And so A. Leuthäuser, M. Kahmann, M. Schmölzing and A. Geisler were lucky for the second time. From the big group of new applicants, S. Pages, R. Wrobel, T. Strubelt, N. Lechleiter, H.-J. Buben and M. and S. Figura will be coming with us.

On 8 October 2015 the JBL expedition team will set off with many research tasks in their luggage on the seventh round-the-world JBL expedition. Those who couldn’t be with us this time will have the next opportunity in 2016. Further information will follow shortly!
