In the air at last! The Caribbean looks fantastic from above. Turquoise water, sandbanks, small islands... can’t wait to arrive.
Shark researcher Dr. Erich Ritter and free-diving world record holder Christian Redl are with us on board the small aircraft. After just over an hour’s flight we land at the northern airport of the 177 km long, but extremely narrow, Caribbean island Eleuthera. We get a bus to Cape Eleuthera in the very south. It was a pity there was no direct flight to the south, but then we would have missed a great bridge spanning the passageway between the rough Atlantic on the left and the light blue, serene Caribbean on the right.
Our team member Matthias took some great aerial photographs using his drone. Our resort is situated at a small marina and looks very luxurious. We check-in at the dive centre and discuss what we’ll do tomorrow.
