It is the correct procedure to use JBL StabiloPond in the evenings and JBLPond Forte in the mornings. However, depending on the conditions in the pond, the active substance needs 2-5 days before a reduction in algae growth becomes apparent. This cannot become apparent within a few hours. If necessary an additional dosage of AlgoPond Forte can be applied. This is useful in individual cases, when there is a very high level of algae growth.
In simple terms we can say that when applying the liquid products JBL AlgoPond Sorb, JBL AgoPond Forte*, JBL AlgoPond Green*, JBL PhosEx Pond Direct, JBL BactoPond the UV-C water clarifier should be temporarily switched off so that the active substances will not be destroyed. Please look up the time periods in the respective operation instructions. _x000D_ _x000D_ With JBL StabiloPond Basis, JBL StabiloPond KH, JBL OxyPond, JBL FilterStart Pond, JBL PhosEx Pond Filter, JBL SediEx Pond the UV-C water clarifier may remain in operation. _x000D_ _x000D_ * Labelling according to EU Directive 98/8/EC: Use biocides safely. JBL StabiloPond Basis and JBL StabiloPond KH are salt mixtures, which stabilise (raise) the general hardness and the carbonate hardness. Nutrients for algae are not included, yet the algae may appear to grow faster after the addition of JBL StabiloPond. _x000D_ _x000D_ This is because most pond water doesn’t have enough minerals for the organisms living in it. When the missing minerals are added to improve the mineral supply for all the organisms, it impacts the algae too. Nutrients for algae are almost always present in the water. _x000D_ _x000D_ Some algae species can store up to 100,000 times their own phosphate requirements.
How to use JBL StabiloPond KH: _x000D_ _x000D_ In the evenings before the algae treatment, so that there is a sufficient buffer for the stabilization of the pH value. _x000D_ _x000D_ After strong rainfall (thunderstorms in summer), because the rain can degrade the carbonate hardness as well as diluting it (key word: acid rain). _x000D_ _x000D_ Use a dosage of 200g / 1.000 l pond water for the first application, or with carbonate hardness 0. For follow-up treatments 100g / 1000 l pond water is sufficient. _x000D_ _x000D_ The powder is sprinkled onto the pond. Do not dissolve it in water beforehand. This will cause it to foam, which reduces the stabilizing effect for the pond water.
Each JBL anti-algae agent has a special purpose. It is therefore not necessary to use several AlgoPond products at the same time. Use AlgoPond Green to combat green water. Use AlgoPond forte for thread algae and all other types of algae. If you want to change the product, allow a time interval of 14 days, a water change of at least 50 % and filtering via activated carbon. The products StabiloPond and PhosEx may, of course, be used together with an AlgoPond algae agent according to the 1-2-3 algae-free principle.
