  • Simple installation: plug JBL CoolControl connection cable into the JBL Cooler. Plug the power supply unit of the JBL Cooler into the JBL CoolControl. Select temperature and switch on
  • Temperature setting wheel from 18-36 °C, function control diode, temperature sensor for measuring the water temperature, DC 5/2 mm plug
  • Switch for Automatic, Manual or Off, operating voltage, function control diode, 12 V DC over power supply of the cooling fan
  • Package contents: thermostat with temperature sensor and 132 cm connection cable to the JBL Cooler, suction holder for temperature sensor (90 cm cable) and double-sided adhesive tape for attachment

  • The cooler does not cool down the aquarium

    JBL ProTemp Coolers cool the water temperature by 2-4 °C in high ambient temperatures. To achieve this with this product, it’s important the maximum recommended aquarium volume is adhered to. Please note that the cooling effect only occurs when the cooler is in operation and that the system needs to have been running continuously for a few hours beforehand. The air flow needs to be directed across the entire width of the aquarium and be at a 45° angle to the water surface. If only a part of the water surface is ventilated or the angle is set to 90°, the desired effect will be lost or greatly reduced. The housing can be rotated 360°.

  • Can I operate two coolers with one ProTemp CoolControl?

    The ProTemp CoolControl is connected between the power supply and the ProTemp Cooler. It is therefore not possible to connect two coolers to one controller. Each Cooler needs its own controller.

  • Why don’t the CO2 bubbles dissolve after reinstallation / cleaning?

    After reinstallation the bubbles move only haltingly through the diffuser and sometimes merge into large bubbles. The device needs approx. 48 hours to set up! After that a bio-film will have formed on the surface of the device, allowing the bubbles to rise freely upwards. After the running in time the required bubble count will adapt itself for your aquarium.

  • Does my CoolControl work with every aquarium aerator/cooler?

    The JBL PROTEMP CoolControl was designed for use with the JBL PROTEMP Cooler, and they work together perfectly. Due to different voltages, flawless function cannot be guaranteed for use with appliances from other manufacturers. Even the connecting plug, which looks identical at first glance, may be a different strength. As a result, a cooler from a different manufacturer may cause unwanted switching, leading to noises in the relay.

  • Can the new ProTemp CoolControl also regulate the old Cooler 100-300?_x000D_

    Yes, the new ProTemp CoolControl can also control the aquarium coolers of the previous Cooler 100-300 range.

  • Why doesn’t the thermometer stick to the pane?

    Please clean the pane thoroughly before you install the thermometer. Algae, biofilms and lime can prevent it from sticking. If the thermometer still doesn’t hold, there may be a problem with the suction cup. Due to a material defect some suction cups have bubble-like excrescences which prevent a correct hold. If you own such a suction cup, please contact our customer service, and provide a photo.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event outside the context of a website, such as a new blog post, a competition or a voucher.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
