When dealing with compressed gas systems, the safety of the user is paramount. That is why it is a matter of course at JBL to achieve the perfect balance between the highest manufacturing standards and precision. The CNC-milled pressure reducers ensure an exact fit. Internal flat seals mean long service life and robustness. Our internal quality control for each batch ensures that any irregularities are noticed before delivery and that these items can be blocked from further use. Our product is therefore safe to use. Several online marketplaces sell pressure reducers that do not meet the requirements needed for years of safe operation in aquaristics. A short product lifetime and frustration are the results and we choose to spare you this. In addition to direct contact with the JBL team of experts through our Customer Service, you are entitled to the extended 4-year guarantee (JBL GarantiePlus) from JBL.
True to the motto, better safe than sorry, some aquarists install several check valves in the same circuit. For example, if you use the JBL PROFLORA direct inline diffuser or the JBL PROFLORA CO2 Count Safe bubble counter, you already have an integrated check valve. If you also use a separate check valve (JBL PROFLORA SafeStop), there may be problems with the opening of the check valves. This effect can be observed if, after the night switch-off or interruption of the supply with the controller, the addition does not restart automatically. Please note that, depending on the working pressure and the number of bubbles, a few minutes may pass between the start of the supply and the visible entry of CO2 into the aquarium. _x000D_ Each spring in a check valve needs a certain pressure to be opened. Several springs can therefore interfere with each other and, depending on the distance between the two check valves, reduce the pressure at the spring to such an extent that it remains closed. Therefore, please always use only one check valve for your CO2 installation.
All check valves or backflow protectíons from JBL require a working pressure of at least 0.6 bar for the valve to open. This feature can be found in the JBL PROFLORA CO2 TAIFUN SAFESTOP, COUNTSAFE and INLINE. The JBL PROFLORA TAIFUN diffusers also all already work with this pressure. A higher working pressure is not necessary, which is why all accessories also work with the JBL PROFLORA BIO SETs (except JBL PROFLORA CO2 STARTER BIO SET). Due to installation, a slightly higher working pressure than 0.6 bar may be necessary due to long hoses and other components, which is why the presetting of 1.2 bar is sufficient in any case.
