In order to determine the photometric measuring results accurately ProScan needs a camera with autofocus. This is the only way to determine the results with maximum precision. Not having one could prevent you from downloading the app from the store. Moreover the app requires the Android version 7.0 or higher or iOS 13.0 or higher. It is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, as well as with 5100 Android smartphone and tablet types. If the download in the store doesn’t work, your mobile is probably incompatible with one of the above mentioned points. If there are any problems during use, e.g. with the scanning, please contact our customer service team: www.jbl.de/en/support .
Please clean the pane thoroughly before you install the thermometer. Algae, biofilms and lime can prevent it from sticking. If the thermometer still doesn’t hold, there may be a problem with the suction cup. Due to a material defect some suction cups have bubble-like excrescences which prevent a correct hold. If you own such a suction cup, please contact our customer service, and provide a photo.
JBL StabiloPond Basis and JBL StabiloPond KH are salt mixtures, which stabilise (raise) the general hardness and the carbonate hardness. Nutrients for algae are not included, yet the algae may appear to grow faster after the addition of JBL StabiloPond. _x000D_ _x000D_ This is because most pond water doesn’t have enough minerals for the organisms living in it. When the missing minerals are added to improve the mineral supply for all the organisms, it impacts the algae too. Nutrients for algae are almost always present in the water. _x000D_ _x000D_ Some algae species can store up to 100,000 times their own phosphate requirements.
A slight rise in the operating pressure is normal when the solenoid valve is closed, although the fluctuations should not be significant. If the operating pressure rises by more 0.2 - 0.4 bar when the solenoid valve is closed, the pressure reducer may be defective. The rise in operating pressure depends on the preset working pressure on the one hand and the hose volume and the compression strength of the hose on the other hand.
The colour charts are intended to be used with the comparator block. In addition, when the comparator block is used with the blank water sample, this compensates the inherent water colour._x000D_ _x000D_ Therefore, if the comparator block is not used, there will most likely be deviations in the readings.
The reason is often an incorrect use of the test. It is important to shake the test vigorously for precisely one minute. All the other important steps can be read in the instructions.
JBL OxyPond is used to combat oxygen deficiency. Oxygen deficiency develops mainly during the winter under an ice cover, or during the summer in high temperatures. The oxygen content of water is temperature dependent. At a water temperature of 0°C the maximum oxygen content is 14.16 mg/l, whereas at a water temperature of 30°C it is only 7.53 mg/l.
The JBL PROAQUATEST Cu Copper measures copper which is free in the water. If the copper is bound (chelated) because it has been rendered harmless by a water conditioner (e.g. JBL Biotopol), it cannot be detected by the test. _x000D_ These complexes are so stable that they cannot be broken up in the aquarium. There is no longer any danger for aquarium inhabitants. Therefore, the test can no longer detect the copper. The compounds are removed during the water change by sucking off mulm or during filter cleaning.
After reinstallation the bubbles move only haltingly through the diffuser and sometimes merge into large bubbles. The device needs approx. 48 hours to set up! After that a bio-film will have formed on the surface of the device, allowing the bubbles to rise freely upwards. After the running in time the required bubble count will adapt itself for your aquarium.
With the JBL PROAQUATEST drop tests you have a laboratory comparator system which compensates the inherent colouration of the water and at the same time enables non-chemists to carry out an accurate and safe water analysis. To ensure that water testing monitors the life of your fish and provides the greatest possible safety, you will find an evaluation adaptable to three different applications. _x000D_ _x000D_ Above the different coloured measuring points are numbers, three symbols and a colour band for each. _x000D_ _x000D_ The symbols stand for the following applications: _x000D_ Fish = freshwater _x000D_ Koi = garden pond _x000D_ Starfish = marine water _x000D_ _x000D_ The colour band tells you the meaning of the value determined in green (everything OK), yellow (attention) and red (need for action). In addition you will find numbers that reflect the value in mg/l for the respective colour field. _x000D_ _x000D_ The first two (freshwater and pond) colour bands belong to the upper number row. Marine water belongs to the lower number row. _x000D_ _x000D_ Why do the values differ? _x000D_ Due to the high salt concentration in marine water, the colouring of the reaction is not as intense as in freshwater (which also includes pond). Consequently, the value for the same colouration is greater than in freshwater _x000D_ _x000D_ Why do the recommendations differ? _x000D_ Every habitat reacts differently to certain nutrient concentrations. In the garden pond, for example, constantly changing temperatures and light intensity can jeopardise the value more than in freshwater, where, unlike in the pond, these factors are constant and necessary additives are supplied. That’s why the recommendations are green for one area of application, yet yellow for the other._x000D_ _x000D_
