- For use with a new filter, after filter cleaning or after medication treatment: granulate with autotrophic bacteria cultures to activate the pond filters quickly
- Add little water to the granulate with bacterial concentrate and spread it on the pond filter material
- Healthy pond filter: activates the filter quickly (within a few days) and prolongs the filter’s service life.
- Merely waiting for a healthy bacterial population takes a very long time, even in ponds, because useful bacteria develop only slowly in a new pond without water pollution. Bacteria only react and reproduce when there is a lot of food (NH4, NO2)
- Package contents: granulate enriched with pollutant-degrading bacteria. Dosage: 250 g granulate for 10,000 l pond water

Why do I need JBL FilterStart Pond ? What bacteria are included?
JBL FilterStartPond is needed whether you are creating a new pond or servicing the pond after the winter, when cleaning the filter media and after remedy treatment. _x000D_ _x000D_ Highly active cleaning bacteria belonging to the group of nitrifiers and denitrificants, plus heterotropic bacteria with different degradative pathways on a mineral-based carrier granulate, together ensure an accumulation of bacteria in the filter. _x000D_ _x000D_ The nitrifiers start quickly and effectively with the breakdown of ammonium/ammonia and nitrite. The denitrificants take slightly longer to start with the breakdown of nitrate to atmospheric nitrogen. _x000D_ _x000D_ The heterotrophic groups advance the reduction of sediments, preventing the filter media from rapid silting and becoming clogged.
