Planaria are choosy eaters. It’s best to find out what their favourite food is and use this food as bait for the trap. We have found NovoTab and PlanktonPur give very satisfying results.
At the entrance of the trap there is a thin tube. The entrance needs to have contact with the floor so that the planaria, coming from the substrate, can reach the bait in the trap. For this purpose you can use the enclosed suction pad alone or together with the cord. If the small tube is aligned in a 45° angle to the flour, like a small ramp, the flatworms are easily able to reach the trap. Another possibility is, to dig in the trap, so that the thin tube just can reach the floor.
No, because the bristle worms are much thicker than the thin tube and can’t contract enough.
Yes, before you close the trap with the white lid, it needs to be completely filled with water so that it can sink and the food can attract the planaria.
