Biotope Battle – The Battle Of The Best At The Vivarium 2015

Biotope aquariums are enjoying increasing popularity. More and more aquarium owners are inspired and enthusing about creating aquariums based on nature’s model. But with biotope aquatics, creating the best possible reproduction of a natural habitat is more important than just creating a natural appearance. Taking Mother Nature as a model, animals, plants and furnishings have to be harmonised to reproduce a natural habitat.

To promote this exciting topic a Biotope Battle will be organized this coming weekend (21st and 22nd November 2015) as part of the Vivarium 2015 in the Netherlands. Well-known experts from the scene will be meeting head on to give “battle” on these two days.

Daniel Konn-Vetterlein & Markus Kaluza from the IG BSSW will compete against Julien Preuß & Sebastian Kuikstra from Biotopaquaristik.de We are looking forward to seeing the results and will, of course, report on them.

Each team will contribute its knowledge, skills and experience to create a biotope aquarium. Each of them will follow guiding principles based on one particular biotope.

After each „battle“ the audience will decide who should win the round. It is about the honour of the experts. We would therefore like to invite you to be present at this exciting theme weekend. After all Nieuwegein is not far from Germany.

The experts of the IG BSSW and the website Biotopaquaristik will be there with their own booths and open for your questions and on-site discussion. There will, of course, be further sample aquariums on view and further information.

You will find more information about the exhibition here: http://www.vivariumbeurs.nl/de

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
