ProScape „Sulawesi Cliffs” by Jessica Runde

We asked some Proscapers to present their work to our community, which means you. Jessica Runde created a model aquarium at home several months ago and recorded its setting-up and development with JBL ProScape in videos and photos.

Discover the story of Jessica Runde’s dream aquarium ”Sulawesi Cliffs“. Below you can read the progress report in the artist’s own words:

Last year I set up an aquarium (60 x 40 x 30 cm) with JBL ProScape products. It was supposed to be a scape and also to provide a lot of hiding places for my dwarf cichlid pair. As soil I used JBL PROSCAPE PLANT SOIL BEIGE , because its colour matches the reddish Sulawesi stones. Underneath a JBL PROSCAPE VOLCANO MINERAL and JBL PROSCAPE VOLCANO POWDER were integrated.

For the planting I chose the following Tropica plants:

  • Vesicularia ferriei 'Weeping'
  • Eleocharis parvula
  • Pogostemon stellatus
  • Hygrophila lancea

After some initial difficulties with diatoms (reason: silicate in the tap water) I switched over to osmosis water, and then the plants grew quite fast. I used JBL PROSCAPE Fe +MICROELEMENTS and JBL PROSCAPE NPK MACROELEMENTS as daily fertilisers. This way the Red Streak Cichlids (Apistogramma hongsloi) and the Amano shrimps quickly received a nice plant-covered home. I am very satisfied with the products, especially with the fertiliser system. Next time, however, I probably would use the brown soil together with the JBL Sansibar sand for the foreground to design an even more beautiful scape. I have come to realise that I prefer a sand area at the front and that the brown soil is a better softener than the beige soil. All in all a good solution!

We hope you liked this little story. Do leave a comment with your feedback.

We intend to present you with further such aquarium reports in future, to encourage you to recreate similar masterpieces.

Small tip: If you would like to reach ideal fertilising conditions for thriving plant growth, the ProScape dosage calculator will help you to calculate the correct dosing of the fertiliser. Philipp also used it with success to care for his Proscape.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
