Nutrition for aquarium plants
Healthy plants prevent algae growth, provide oxygen, remove pollutants, provide hiding places and reduce germs. Living aquarium plants are therefore very important for the functioning of an aquarium.

With the JBL plant care products you supply the plants with all the main nutrients and essential trace elements. This way the plants receive all the nutrients they need for the absorption through the leaves and roots to prevent deficiency symptoms (e.g. iron or potassium deficiency).

What do aquarium plants need for optimal growth?
Full spectrum light: JBL LED SOLAR NATUR
Carbon dioxide (CO2): JBL PROFLORA CO2 System
Iron, potassium and other minerals: JBL PROFLORA FERROPOL
Trace elements which cannot be fertilised in stock: JBL PROFLORA FERROPOL 24 Daily Fertiliser
Root fertilisation: JBL PROFLORA The 7 Balls, JBL PROFLORA FERROPOL ROOT

A lot of aquarium plants absorb their nutrients additionally or even mainly through their roots. It is therefore important to provide the plant roots with nutrients. JBL AquaBasis Plus contains all the essential nutrients for healthy and vigorous aquarium plant growth. The function can easily be compared to a charged battery: JBL AquaBasis Plus immediately supplies the energy (nutrients) for the plants and, when the supply runs low it can be recharged with the help of liquid fertilisers (JBL Ferropol and JBL FerropolRoot).

FAQ
Is it necessary to add an additional nutrient substrate such as JBL AquaBasis under JBL Manado, or do JBL Manado’s properties enable it to do without?

JBL Manado itself doesn’t contain any fertilizer. JBL Manado is, however, able to absorb nutrients (especially trace elements) to supply to the plant roots.

For a good plant growth it is advisable to use JBL AquaBasis plus underneath JBL Manado.

Water values for water plants in detail

If we transfer this Liebig’s Law of the Minimum to the aquatic field it quickly becomes clear how important balanced fertilisation is for plant aquariums.

Find out more

There’s more to fertilization than you’d think Part 2

Simply put, Liebig’s Law of the Minimum states that the growth of plants is limited by the scarcest resource. Adding a nutrient which already exists in abundance does not influence the growth.

Fertilization is not just fertilization Part 1

Unlike in natural waters, aquariums with fish mostly have a surplus of nutrients caused by feeding and the resulting fish excrement. Thus nitrates and phosphates in large (often too large!) quantities are available for the plants.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
