Clean and healthy water
Plant and food remains and metabolic substances lead to a deterioration of the quality of the water in the aquarium. Good water quality is necessary for healthy fish and plants. This can be achieved with aquarium filters. The filters suck in the aquarium water and remove the pollution and waste materials with the filter material from the water Filters also offer an ideal habitat for bacteria which decompose harmful substances.

Easy to install The external filter is completely equipped and ready to connect. The built-in quick-start device makes the filter easy to install without the need for manual priming. The filter media are included in the contents.

Easy to clean Replacing the easy to reach pre-filter means that you only rarely need to clean the rest of the filter. The large filter volume provides a high biological filtering performance involving several filter layers. The bio-filter balls inside have different diameters. This promotes the self-cleaning effect.

Energy efficient and safe
With only 4 W power consumption the CristalProfi e401 offers substantial energy savings. At an effective, sustained water circulation the device consumes 31 % less power than comparable previous models. The patented hose connection bloc with a safety valve prevents water leakage when disconnecting the filter. JBL CristalProfi is TÜV tested.

FAQ
Why do the locking clips have a structured texture?

A further enhancement of the locking clips has ensured even more stability. The locking clips of the CristalProfi external filters are made of glass fibre reinforced plastic to ensure higher stability. This is easily discernible by its slightly fibrous texture.

Can my CP e4/7/9/15/1900/1be converted into the 02 generation?

Yes it is possible to convert it with the Combi Filter Basket II CP e. Remove the old distributor plate and the old Combi Filter Basket.
Now the new filter basket can be placed and put into operation without any additional seals.

Your present filter from the series 01 still can be visually adjusted: Replace the locking clips with the black clips of series 02.

My filter has become loud after a few months. What’s the reason for that?

The impeller of the filter is subject to constant wear and tear. We recommend you replace it. This way its smooth running is ensured. Make sure that the noises are not caused by trapped air.

The guarantee covers defects in material and assembly. The guarantee does not cover parts subject to wear and tear, such as the impellers or shafts as well as damage caused by external influences and improper handling.

On the new filter the start button is blocked - what shall I do?

There is a resistance the first time you press the start button because it needs to be activated. Take both hands, lean over the filter and press the button with force. A clicking activates it and indicates the correct procedure. Now the start button can easily be pressed with one hand.

My external filter was loud or gurgled after it was installed.

After a new installation, the remaining air escapes from the filter media during the first 5-7 days. This causes “gurgling” or intermittent rattling. Additional problems may occur due to transmission of resonance. Please make sure that the filter has 4 rubber feet on the bottom and only has contact with the cabinet there and nowhere else. Test by placing the filter on a soft surface, making sure that the hoses don’t have any contact with the stand either. If you notice air in the filter, please check the hose on the inlet side for air pockets and streams of bubbles. This would give an indication of the source of the trapped air.
