JBL Colombia Expedition: All results, 330 photos and 15 videos on the JBL Website

The many, sometimes surprising, results made the reports on the JBL website the most extensive of all our 16 JBL expeditions to date. Some of the underwater photographs in the blackwater biotopes of eastern Colombia are unique, because the behaviour of altum angelfish has never been documented in this way before. Today's technology with underwater cameras, supplied to the JBL expedition by the Bresser/National Geographic company, created video sequences showing the natural behaviour of many fish, once they had very quickly got used to the cameras. The test results were also quite something: In the town of Puerto Inirida we measured 37.7 °C, the highest air temperature worldwide of all the tropical rainforests we have visited so far. The relative humidity of 98.8 % on February 10, 2022 was also an all-time high! In contrast, pH values of some water bodies with 4.0 and the warmest water body, the Rio Atabapo, with 32.7 °C at the water surface were normal measurements.
