To pump the water out of the aquarium, a suction effect is required for the JBL PROCLEAN AQUA IN-OUT COMPLETE to function correctly. As soon as the suction hose has been filled with water through the tap, the tap can be turned off. If the aquarium is higher than the water jet pump, you’ll need to continue running the tap water to generate and maintain the suction. This will require a ratio of approximately 1:2 (aquarium water : tap water). This means that small height differences of up to one metre can be overcome without any problems. For this reason, it is important that the drain and the aquarium are on the same floor. The generation of the suction effect depends on further factors: water pressure of the pipe, hose length, height difference and any clogging in the flow caused by leaves or snails in the protective strainers.
