  • What happens if Denitrol is dosed and the animals are not introduced until several days later?

Without immediately adding animals, the cleaning bacteria used with JBL Denitrol / JBL PROCLEAN BAC will die within a short time due to lack of food. If the animals are added a few days later (contrary to the instructions), problems with ammonium/ammonia and nitrite will occur. Ultimately, the bacteria cannot develop due to the lack of food and will have already died. As a result, the ammonium excreted by the fish cannot be broken down. Since there are no bacteria present to oxidize ammonium into nitrate in two steps, a nitrite peak occurs despite the application. If the first fish are added immediately after the addition of Denitrol, the cleaning bacteria also receive food and begin to multiply. This is comparable to an unathletic person who starts exercising and first has to "train" to get in shape. This ensures that there are enough bacteria from the start and that neither ammonium/ammonia nor nitrite become a problem when more fish are added. Please always increase the fish stock moderately and only after a few days

  • High nitrite levels – addition of bacteria and effects

The use of JBL Detoxol binds free ammonium in the water and provides immediate relief for the fish. At the same time, the removal of ammonium prevents the further formation of nitrite. Existing nitrite is not bound in this process. If nitrite levels are high, they should therefore first be counteracted by changing the water. The addition of bacteria then helps to remove ammonium and nitrite in a sustainable and biological manner.

  • Are the "filter bacteria" dangerous for sensitive people, as they may be transmitted through the air?

No, these bacteria are not harmful to humans. They cannot enter the air because nitrifying bacteria are substrate-bound and bound to an aqueous or at least moist medium.

  • How are the filter bacteria (Nitrobacter) preserved in the bottles? How do the bacteria survive in them?

The bacteria are contained in the products in a nutrient solution that meets the "minimum requirements," as a fully functioning metabolism would shorten the best-before date. As long as the bottles are in their original packaging and stored between 4-35°C, the best-before date is 18 months. If the liquid is clear, possibly with very small brownish flakes, the product is intact. Only a very faint odor is noticeable. If the liquid smells like rotten eggs or contains black flakes, the product is defective.

  • Can I feed normally during the first three weeks?

No, feeding should be kept to a minimum and should not exceed 25% of the usual amount. The bacteria adapt to the current water load and should therefore not be overwhelmed. A slow increase allows the bacteria to adapt to the environment.

  • Is it possible to overdose on Biotopol or Denitrol?

With Biotopol, the double dose should not be exceeded. Denitrol can be overdosed up to 5 times.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event outside the context of a website, such as a new blog post, a competition or a voucher.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).
