  • What happens to the algae after using an algae control product?

Any algae control product that kills algae, such as JBL AlgoPond forte, AlgoPond green, or Algol, causes the dead algae to decompose biologically and be broken down by bacteria. This in turn leads to enormous oxygen consumption by the bacteria (nitrification) and the release of the nutrients nitrate and phosphate, which were "bound" in the algae. In principle, this feeds the next generation of algae. This is why JBL always recommends binding the released nutrients as the final step in algae control after targeted treatment with an algae product. Since it is sufficient to remove one of the two nutrients, we recommend phosphate removal, which can be done very easily with a good phosphate remover (JBL PhosEx Pond or JBL PhosEx). Incidentally, it therefore always makes sense to remove dying or dead algae mechanically. The less algae is broken down, the fewer nutrients are released again!

  • Can the pond care products JBL StabiloPond Basis, JBL StabiloPond KH, JBL OxyPond, JBL FilterStart Pond, JBL PhosEx Pond Filter, JBL SediEx Pond, JBL AlgoPond Sorb, JBL AgoPond Forte*, JBL, AlgoPond Green*, JBL PhosEx Pond Direct, JBL BactoPond be used without any problems with a UV-C water clarifier in operation, or should the UV-C lamp be switched off?

In simple terms, when using the liquid products JBL AlgoPond Sorb, JBL AgoPond Forte*, JBL AlgoPond Green*, JBL PhosEx Pond Direct, and JBL BactoPond, the UV-C clarifier should be temporarily switched off so that the active ingredients are not destroyed. Please refer to the respective instructions for use for the time periods. With JBL StabiloPond Basis, JBL StabiloPond KH, JBL OxyPond, JBL FilterStart Pond, JBL PhosEx Pond Filter, and JBL SediEx Pond, the UV-C clarifier can remain in operation. * Labeling according to EU Directive 98/8/EC: Use biocides safely. • Can I use several algae control products together in my pond?

Each JBL algae treatment has a specific purpose. It is therefore not necessary to use several AlgoPond products at the same time. Use AlgoPond Green against green water. For thread algae and all other types of algae, use AlgoPond forte. If you want to change products, wait 14 days, change at least 50% of the water and filter through activated carbon. StabiloPond and PhosEx can of course be used together with an AlgoPond algae treatment in accordance with the 1-2-3 algae-free principle.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event outside the context of a website, such as a new blog post, a competition or a voucher.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).
