This only happens if the tube is immersed in the salt mixture or if the power supply has been interrupted for a long period of time, allowing water to flow back into the tube. Tip for use: Before tightening the lid on the Artemio, please start the air pump. When the air tube is immersed in the water containing the JBL Artemio Mix or JBL Artemio Sal and JBL Artemio Pur mixture, which may not have dissolved yet, the escaping air will prevent it from settling in the air tube and forming a salt plug.
To make the lid of the Artemio reactor easier to remove and to maintain the seal, we recommend spraying it with JBL Silicone Spray. This makes the lid easy to remove and also maintains the seal.
It is recommended to clamp the sealing ring behind 2 or 3 of the brackets and then slide the other area onto the guide. Then carefully pull the sealing ring over each of the brackets one after the other. This will then guide it into place.
It may happen that the water from the breeding reactor does not run through the fine sieve at first. This effect occurs when: - A fresh, dry sieve is used for the first time, - A used sieve has not been rinsed properly, - The sieve is completely dry. Remedial measures: 1) Moisten both sides of the sieve beforehand to remove the air from the sieve pores and allow the water to flow freely. 2) Tap the underside of the sieve; the contact will draw water through the sieve and the effect will spread across the sieve surface. The cause lies in the fine structure of the sieve, with a mesh size of 150 µm, and the so-called cohesion of the water molecules. Water molecules combine to form larger units (clusters), which is why water is liquid between 0 and 100 °C; otherwise, it would be gaseous. In dry, fine sieves, cohesion initially prevents the water from passing freely through the sieve, whose pores are initially filled with air. When the sieve is moistened or contact is made with the underside, a suction force is exerted which breaks up the clusters and allows the water to pass through the sieve
At first, air hoses and special CO2 hoses are flexible and can be easily attached to the connection pieces. After a few months, the hoses harden more and more and can only be removed from the connection piece with considerable force. If you pull hard on the hose, this will damage the connection. In the worst case, it may break off. Therefore, cut the hoses to be removed at the side and remove them carefully. Always install the hoses with a little extra length.
