  • After using PhosEx Pond Direct, even multiple times, the phosphate test still shows a deep blue color as the maximum value.

In this case, the phosphate value was so high that the application of PhosEx Pond Direct could not be detected by measurement because it was several times higher than the maximum dissolved value. In this case, the water sample must be diluted with distilled water or other phosphate-free water before the test in order to first determine the actual phosphate value. PhosEx Pond Filter is always a good alternative in such cases

  • I successfully got rid of the algae, but it keeps coming back. Why does it keep coming back and how can I prevent it?

The main causes of algae in garden ponds are too much light and too many nutrients. Successful algae treatment releases the nutrients bound in the algae, which are then available as nutrients for the next algae bloom during the next period of good weather with sufficient light. Measure: JBL PhosExPond Direct precipitates phosphates, removing them from the water and thus from the algae. JBL PhosExPond Filter permanently binds phosphates and limits their levels. Action: JBL PhosExPond Direct precipitates phosphates, removing them from the water and thus from the algae. JBL PhosExPond Filter permanently binds phosphates and limits their level. JBL BactoPond can be used as a support after algae treatments to minimize nitrogen compounds. JBL SediExPond promotes sludge reduction at the bottom of the pond through so-called heterotrophic (all-consuming) bacterial strains. JBL AlgoPond Sorb adds natural humic substances to the water and, thanks to its light amber color, reduces excessive light penetration into the garden pond, which means a significant reduction in algae growth

  • Can I use JBL PhosEx Pond Direct immediately after dosing JBL AlgoPond forte?

JBL PhosExPond Direct should not be used immediately after treatment with JBL AlgoPond forte. Instead, wait around 3-4 days until the algae are visibly reduced and the nutrients stored in their cells are released again. Only then is phosphate precipitation with JBL PhosExPond Direct useful and effective. The same applies to combating thread algae with JBL AlgoPond Direct and the subsequent use of JBL PhosEx Pond Direct

  • How long must I wait after using JBL PhosEx Pond Direct before I can switch the UV-C clarifier back on?

There is no general answer to this question. JBL PhosEx Pond Direct binds dissolved phosphates through chemical precipitation, i.e., conversion into a form that is not (or only under certain chemical conditions) soluble in water. How long it takes before the UV-C clarifier can be put back into operation depends largely on the circulation capacity, i.e. how long it takes for the water to be completely filtered through the pond filter. Furthermore, the existing flow/water movement in the pond and the method of adding JBL PhosEx Pond Direct must be taken into account. If the product is distributed over a large area, e.g. using a (plastic) watering can, and there is good water movement, the time required is shorter than if the product is added in a concentrated form to one area of the garden pond with little water movement. In addition to distribution, the water temperature also plays a certain role, but this should only be mentioned here in passing. The shutdown time should be at least as long as it takes for the pond volume to be completely circulated twice. To be on the safe side with regard to phosphate precipitation, a period of 48 hours for switching off the UV-C system is considered sufficient.

  • Can I use several algae control products together in my pond?

Each JBL algae treatment has a specific purpose. It is therefore not necessary to use several AlgoPond products at the same time. Use AlgoPond Green against green water. For thread algae and all other types of algae, use AlgoPond forte. If you want to change products, wait 14 days, change at least 50% of the water and filter through activated carbon. StabiloPond and PhosEx can of course be used together with an AlgoPond algae treatment in accordance with the 1-2-3 algae-free principle.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event outside the context of a website, such as a new blog post, a competition or a voucher.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).
