The size of the CO2 bubbles is crucial for comparability. Therefore, the number of bubbles in ProFlora direct cannot be compared with the old method of bubble detection (e.g., ProFlora Count (safe) or other bubble counters). Depending on the method used, bubble sizes can vary by up to 300%. Therefore, to compare both systems, always use the same bubble counter and determine the conversion factor "bubble count in the old bubble counter" to "bubble count in ProFlora direct." Since there is no CO2 bubble size standard on the market, this confusion can arise
If the bubble counter does not contain any water after installation, simply wait a few hours without switching on the CO2. It will fill itself through the water jet from the filter. Alternatively, the chamber of the bubble counter can be filled with water during installation.
In order to achieve a uniform bubble pattern with fine microbubbles, the modern ceramic-PE hybrid membrane should be watered before commissioning. If this is not done, large bubbles will form.
