No, you can rest assured. The power supply unit and temperature sensor are located in the storage compartment (1a) in the food container (1). See image.
When adding a new type of food to your JBL PROPOND AUTOFOOD, please note that the maximum granule size is 9 mm. Fill the automatic feeder with up to 25 l of food, set the settings for up to 24 feedings per day and set the throwing range to 0.5 m or 1 m. Larger and heavier granules in particular can behave differently than small granules. Therefore, carry out a few test feedings and observe the amount dispensed. Flakes and granules that are too large will cause the augers to clog and should not be used. Subject to the general conditions, almost all common types of food for koi and garden pond fish are suitable. You are therefore not restricted in any way.
The JBL PROPOND AUTOFOOD automatic feeder for garden ponds has an integrated 7200 mAh rechargeable battery. The additional integrated solar panel charges the integrated battery during daylight hours and when the sun is shining. Provided that no light hits the panel, the battery is capable of feeding several times a day over a period of more than a week. Depending on the amount, it can even operate autonomously for up to three weeks. However, as the battery is also charged in winter, the device can operate completely autonomously and does not usually require any power.
