Inside JBL: When our staff goes on holiday

The holiday season has arrived and at JBL, too, a lot of employees are going on their summer holidays. Just like Mark Mosler, regional key account manager at JBL, who drives several hundred kilometres around his sales field in Germany every day, training specialist dealers on-site, and taking care of trade fairs for us. It’s a full-time job which again and again leads him into interesting conversations with interesting people, thanks to our hobbies. As with most of us here at JBL Mark is very interested in our hobbies. Even on holiday his passion continues. Armed with his smartphone he has captured some impressions for you.

What could be better than a hiking holiday in the eastern Allgäu region? At the Allertsee he had the opportunity to observe a lot of fish and to take in the water scenery – pure relaxation. Despite the myths about ghosts and mythical creatures who pull humans into the depth of the lake or lure them into fissures, he had a refreshing dip in the lake. The hike gave his terraristic heart cause to beat too. An alpine salamander posed at the wayside and a there was a very trusting grass snake at the Iler - you almost could have caught them.

Of course he couldn’t miss a trip to the Zugspitze (Germany’s highest mountain). Being a real native of Cologne he had to try the beer in Germany’s highest beer garden. And here a travel tip for you: The hiking paths through the forest of Kempten provide a lot of opportunities for extensive hikes with various stop-offs for breaks or meals. How are you spending your summer holiday? Do you take your hobby on holiday with you? Just write us your comments.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.

JBL GmbH & Co. KG provides this service free of charge, and it is easy to activate or deactivate.
