The JBL Interns - Our first day on the premises!

Hi folks,

Tim here. As announced in the last blog post, my second week coincided with the first time in ages we were able to work in-office again.

But it meant a really early start for me. My alarm clock went off at 4:15 a.m., which, as you know, is an unusual time for a student to be up ;). In addition, I had the "extreme" cold and the joys of scraping ice from the windscreen.

By 5:00 a.m. I was in the office. As already mentioned it is not my first time at JBL, so I knew what to expect.

Matthias welcomed me and showed me my new workplace. The staggered work schedule meant only half of the employees were there and it was unusually quiet compared to how I knew it.

As soon as Moritz arrived, we started shooting product videos and, while we were at it, also prepared tidied up the tanks a bit.

Fun fact: Every JBL office is allowed an aquarium to try out our products and get to know them. These two tanks are former championship entries from a trade fair. JBL bought them at auction for a good cause and they have been in the sales department ever since. However, the tanks were newly set up again some time ago.

Even though the videos you see on TikTok and Instagram are only a few seconds long, it takes a while to shoot the video. We think about where we want to shoot the video, how we want to shoot it and if we want to have a certain effect. Then it has to be filmed and that doesn't always work on the first try. Sometimes it takes two or three times until we like it enough to edit it.

You can see the results of our day of shooting on  Instagram and  TikTok  . ;)

How do you like the videos on TikTok and Instagram? Do you have a favourite video? Let us know!

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.

JBL GmbH & Co. KG provides this service free of charge, and it is easy to activate or deactivate.
