All Japan Koi Show Cancelled

The world's most important koi fair in Tokyo, organised annually by the Shinkokai (the professional breeders' association) at the beginning of February, has just been officially cancelled. The reasons are obvious: regional corona cases are increasing massively in Japan and the country has issued bans that apply to the koi show. This is hitting Japan's koi breeders very hard, as their business is already in sharp decline. Online orders are going well, but it's the buyers who come in person to select that buy the large, expensive koi. JBL, a member of the Shinkokai, is keeping its fingers crossed that the fair will be able to recommence in 2022 and that our stand and our experts can be there again in person.
