JBL Expedition Colombia 2022 takes place

Due to the corona situation the JBL expedition to Colombia planned for 2021 was postponed to February 2022. As there were over 200 applications from all over the world, JBL decided to carry out this expedition twice. The participants for the first expedition in February 2022 have been confirmed. Applications for the second JBL Colombia expedition in November 2022 are currently open.

JBL is in close contact with local Colombian partners who inform us of the political and health situation on a daily basis. According to the Colombians, there will be no problems in carrying out the two JBL expeditions in 2022. The feedback from Puerto Inirida, the starting point of the boat trips into the lowland rainforest, is interesting: there are hardly any corona cases and the few there were, were not serious! The Colombians attribute this to the locals’ high-functioning immune systems, as they mainly eat fish, vegetables and fruits. Anyone who would still like to register for this fascinating trip to the altum angelfish and cardinal tetras can do so via the JBL website until 1 May 2022. The price of the trip will be around € 1900 including all flights.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.

JBL GmbH & Co. KG provides this service free of charge, and it is easy to activate or deactivate.
