Anglers also have problems with algae

800 kg of dead fish indicate a massive problem in the ponds. A fishing club in Ludwigshafen/Rh. did the right thing: with the help of JBL water tests, they first determined the water parameters to get to the bottom of the matter. And now it gets complicated: all the remedial measures that aquarists would take in their aquariums and pond owners in their ponds, anglers MUST NOT carry out!

Leaf fall creates a huge layer of silt in the 6,500 and 7,500 m² lakes, which are between three and four metres deep. However, neither the removal of silt nor the pruning of the trees around the lakes is permitted. Not even measures to reduce the silt are authorised. The city of Ludwigshafen appears to be willing to accept mass fish deaths. Aerators were then purchased at the anglers’ own expense – there was no financial support from the city. JBL provides the dedicated anglers with free water tests so that the condition of the lakes can be fully documented.

Just like an aquarium or a pond, fishing lakes are important places for relaxation, offering great recreational value to many people, not just anglers. Perhaps the city will eventually come to realise that every natural pond will eventually silt up unless regulatory measures are taken in line with biological principles.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event outside the context of a website, such as a new blog post, a competition or a voucher.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).
