Production

Production

JBL manufactures all food, care and remedy products, as well as water tests in its own plant in Neuhofen/Pfalz. Only the manufacturing of technical products has been outsourced, but the assembly and the function control are again carried out in the Neuhofen plant.

Animal feed

The food area is divided into flakes, granulated food and food tablets. For each type of food JBL has its own machine. The four meter long flaker roll weighs 15,000 kg and runs 24 hours a day. For the production of granulated food an extruder is used, which processes the mash fed into it into an “endless sausage” of the desired thickness and then cuts it into layers. That way granulates, wafers, pearls and chips can be produced in all thicknesses, shapes and compositions. The extrudate is dried in suspension on an air bed drying unit developed by JBL. In this way, in contrast to screen drying, it dries evenly from all sides and thus more gently and quickly. After the production the different flakes and granulates are mixed in with the respective food type and filled into the tins. Food tablets, on the other hand, are mechanically compressed in separate machines which produce about 1 million tablets per day. This is done by purely mechanical means to enable us to manage without any binding agents and fillers.

Care products

Liquid care products are prepared in 500 or 1000 l containers, then filled into the bottles, sealed and labelled on the liquids filling line. In the case of JBL Denitrol and JBL FilterStart as well as JBL BactoPond every precaution is taken to prevent any contamination of the beneficial cleansing bacteria in the products by airborne transport. The quality of products containing living bacterial cultures depends to a large extent on the purity of the products. The minute foreign bacteria contaminate the cultures, the products stop working effectively. The control of the ingredients of all liquid products takes place before, during and after production. Many JBL products are manually packed. This includes such products as water tests, CO2 systems and test cases.

Technical products

Like many other manufacturers of technical products, JBL has transferred the manufacturing of some technical products, such as the filter, to Asia. The component parts are produced and assembled following the specifications of the JBL development department. The functional test of each filter is carried out on site and later an additional quality control takes place at the JBL plant. Due to the close cooperation of the two plants, our high quality standards are ensured despite the long distance.

Accessory products

Most accessory items are assembled and packed by hand because they are too varied in shape for automatic packing to be of advantage.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).

Web notifications are part of the W3C standard and define an API for end user notifications. A notification makes it possible to inform the user about an event, such as a new blog post, outside the context of a website.
