JBL has developed into a global player and is currently supplying 65 countries, some of which deliver our products into further countries. The strongest export country is France, and New Zealand is the country the furthest away from Germany. Exporting also means responding to the specific needs of individual countries. That’s why the label often has to be created in a multilingual version. Belgium, for example, needs Dutch for its northern region and French for its southern region. Taiwanese speak a different Chinese than mainland Chinese. And in Hong Kong they prefer English. In Asia fish species such as Arowana or Flowerhorn cichlids are more popular than in Europe and in France and Holland they sell more goldfish than in the rest of the world. So the fields of aquatics, reptiles and pond care can differ around the world and some adaption is needed.
The overseas shipment of the JBL deliveries requires sophisticated logistics. Not only do the goods need to be shock-proof packed, they also need to withstand high temperatures, as when a container is exposed to the sun for four weeks on board a ship to Singapore. The importers in turn need to plan carefully and order well in advance, because a delivery to New Zealand will take approximately 8 weeks.
Different countries, different customs. The French love betta fish more than anyone else. In Hong Kong and China they sell fish ready packaged in bags and in Malaysia nobody would understand the term coldwater fish (for koi and goldfish), because a pond is as warm as an aquarium there. In the training courses that JBL offers worldwide, such country specific facts always have to be taken into account.
