Product information

Ideal nutrition for plants
Having the right CO2 concentration in the water is hugely important for aquarium plants. Carbon dioxide is the plants’ main nutrient and it fully promotes their growth. Plants use CO2 for photosynthesis and this supplies the water with essential oxygen. They prevent algae growth, remove pollutants, provide hiding places and reduce germs.

Efficient enrichment of the aquarium water with CO2:
Inside the diffuser is a special diaphragm through which the CO2 diffuses into the aquarium water, which is pumped back into the aquarium by the external filter. The very small CO2 bubbles dissolve very well in the water and save about 20 % compared to other CO2 diffusers.

Easy to install
The direct diffuser needs to be integrated into the hose as close as possible to the external filter canister in order to extend the distance of the CO2 in the hose as much as possible. A vertical installation position allows the best readability of the integrated bubble counter.

FAQ
May the JBL PROFLORA CO2 products only be used for the aquarium?

Yes, the JBL PROFLORA CO2 products are designed exclusively for use in the aquarium. The gas contained promotes plant growth and works with fine precision so that even the smallest quantities can be supplied to the aquarium. Constant operation and the safety of the fish are thus guaranteed.

Should I use several check valves on my CO2 installation?

True to the motto, better safe than sorry, some aquarists install several check valves in the same circuit. For example, if you use the JBL PROFLORA direct inline diffuser or the JBL PROFLORA CO2 Count Safe bubble counter, you already have an integrated check valve. If you also use a separate check valve (JBL PROFLORA SafeStop), there may be problems with the opening of the check valves. This effect can be observed if, after the night switch-off or interruption of the supply with the controller, the addition does not restart automatically. Please note that, depending on the working pressure and the number of bubbles, a few minutes may pass between the start of the supply and the visible entry of CO2 into the aquarium.
Each spring in a check valve needs a certain pressure to be opened. Several springs can therefore interfere with each other and, depending on the distance between the two check valves, reduce the pressure at the spring to such an extent that it remains closed. Therefore, please always use only one check valve for your CO2 installation.

What is the minimum working pressure I need to use the JBL CO2 accessories?

All check valves or backflow protectíons from JBL require a working pressure of at least 0.6 bar for the valve to open. This feature can be found in the JBL PROFLORA CO2 TAIFUN SAFESTOP, COUNTSAFE and INLINE. The JBL PROFLORA TAIFUN diffusers also all already work with this pressure. A higher working pressure is not necessary, which is why all accessories also work with the JBL PROFLORA BIO SETs (except JBL PROFLORA CO2 STARTER BIO SET). Due to installation, a slightly higher working pressure than 0.6 bar may be necessary due to long hoses and other components, which is why the presetting of 1.2 bar is sufficient in any case.

Why do you need to soak the membrane in water for 24 hours?

To receive a consistent bubble pattern with fine micro bubbles, the modern ceramic PE hybrid membrane needs to be soaked in water before putting it into operation. If this is not done, large bubbles will occur.

Why does the CO2 diffuser create large bubbles?

In order to enable the modern ceramic PE hybrid membrane to build consistent micro bubbles and to ensure an effective
CO2 spread in the water, it needs to be soaked in water for approx. 24 hours before being put into operation. Do not, therefore, switch on the CO2 supply after installation until the period of time mentioned has passed. Alternatively you can put the membrane into a bowl of water. Without this soaking the pores will not have enough water and will let large bubbles pass with an uneven distribution.

PUSH messages from JBL

What are PUSH messages? As part of the W3C standard, web notifications define an API for end-user notifications that are sent to the user's desktop and/or mobile devices via the browser. Notifications appear on the end devices as they are familiar to the end user from apps installed on the device (e.g. emails). Notifications appear on the end user’s device, just like an app (e.g. for emails) installed on the device.

These notifications enable a website operator to contact its users whenever they have a browser open - it doesn’t matter whether the user is currently visiting the website or not.

To be able to send web push notifications, all you need is a website with a web push code installed. This allows brands without apps to take advantage of many of the benefits of push notifications (personalised real-time communications at just the right moment).
