Se possibile, non lesinare sulle piante acquatiche – non te ne pentirai. Non tutte le specie di piante in commercio sono piante subacquee! Molte specie vivono benissimo sott'acqua mentre altre sono però piante palustri e moriranno prima o poi se tenute sott'acqua. La maggior parte delle piante a rosetta vengono coltivate emerse per poi essere trasferite sott'acqua. Di conseguenza dopo un certo periodo perdono le loro foglie per formarne di nuove che possono avere un aspetto un po' diverso.
