How to inoculate the pond filter properly

This issue has often been raised at exhibitions but also between customers and retailers, and the most frequently asked question is why there are two different bacteria containing products.

It’s because there are two completely different approaches which only work optimally in combination. JBL FilterStart Pond is a granulate with bacterial cultures for the quick activation of pond filters filters by means of nitrifying bacteria. JBL BactoPond are live bacteria which settle and reproduce there. Without the addition of both products this process would take several weeks, so that the fish would be swimming in an insufficiently biologically activated environment with fluctuating water values.

Please remember to put the filter into operation after the night frost period has ended. The bacteria can actively reproduce when the water temperature remains constantly above 10 degrees. This is the ideal time to use bacterial products. In lower temperatures the reproduction strongly slows down.
