The JBL Interns - Now twice as good!

Hi guys,

Moritz has already told you that Online Marketing has received reinforcements with me as its second student. Since February, I’ve been an "Online Marketing" intern at JBL.

My name’s Tim, I’m 21 years old and a business administration student from Heidelberg. Unlike Moritz, my studies are sandwiched within the week, which means that I have lectures on Mondays and Tuesdays and work at JBL on the other days.

As I’ve specialised in marketing and digital media, the field of online marketing is exactly right for me to gain experience and put what I’m learning into practice.

I’ve always been interested in aquaristics. My uncle has had aquariums ever since I can remember. But you know how it is when you’re young and still living at home, I was never allowed my own because “we’ll end up having to take care of it". Thanks to JBL, I got my first aquarium in 2018 and this put an end to years of discussions.

I spent time at JBL during my school internship in 2015, my internship for the advanced technical college entrance qualification in 2018-2019 and my time as a temp in 2019-2020, and there could not be a better company to offer me work experience. Nevertheless, my I spent my previous stays at JBL in research, development and quality control so I only had a fleeting acquaintance with the online marketing department.

On 13 January 2021, I met Matthias and we signed the contracts. On 03 February 2021 I had my "somewhat different" first day.

Due to the current situation, I had to work from home on the very first day. It was a little strange, but it worked quite well and I felt part of the team right away, despite the physical distance.

The first week flew by as I was immediately set to work on social media. One of my first tasks was to create posts for Instagram, Facebook and the like, which turned out to be very nerve-wracking, me being so keen to offer you the best ;).

Moritz and I put our heads together and came up with an editorial plan for the social media channels, taking in the use of GIFs and memes and the issue of content.

Do you have any specific wishes about what you would like to see on our social media channels?

The following week I was able to work on site again at JBL for the first time in a year. But more about that in the next blog.
